Grape Varieties: Viognier (50%) Antão Vaz (30%) Roupeiro (20%).
Concept and Style: A fusion wine; blending Portuguese and French varietals to produce a delicious white that is aromatic, fresh and packed with floral and fruit aromas, so attractive we just had to call this wine SEXY!
Winemaker’s notes: Pale lemon colour with aromas of tropical fruit and orange blossom. Medium bodied, fine textural presence in the mouth, good balance between fruit and refreshing acidity.
Production: 13,300 0.75L bottles released in March 2011.
Soils and Climate: Clay-calcareous soils. Continental/Mediterranean climate. Hot and dry with cold nights.
Vinification: Grapes are selectively handpicked into 20 kg harvest boxes and gently whole-cluster pressed at low temperature. Suspended solids are given time to settle before fermenting the naturally clarified juice at 12ºC; 90% in stainless steel tanks, 10% in new French oakbarrels.
Alcohol: 13% by Volume.
Storage and Service: Store a: 6-8ºC and serve at 10ºC.
Food Pairing: Well matched with grilled fish or simple dishes of pasta aldente that are enhanced by a wine that has considerable fruit presence and freshness.
